Understanding Price Differences and Balances for Replacements, Exchanges, and Promotions

When replacing or exchanging items, customers often encounter price differences or balances due. This article explains how these calculations are made, the rules for promotions, and how to avoid unexpected charges.

Replacement and Exchange Policies

Replacing Frames

  • If you replace your frames with a pair of a different price, the balance is calculated based on the frame cost alone. For example, if the original frames cost $95 and the replacement frames cost $377, the difference of $282 is the balance owed. Lens costs are excluded if the same lenses are used.

  • Choosing a higher-priced frame during a replacement requires paying the price difference before the order proceeds.

  • To avoid extra charges, select a KITS-brand frame that has the same value as the frame you've initially ordered.

  • If you are looking to replace a KITS frame with a designer frame and had previously used a discount code, please note that discount codes are generally separate for KITS and designer frames. As a result, the original code may no longer be valid for the designer frame purchase.

Exchanging Frames

  • Exchanges for higher-priced frames require payment of the price difference. For example, if the original frame was $38 and the new frame is $58, the balance due is $20.

  • If the replacement frame costs less than the original, the difference will be refunded or credited if the original order is outside of the 30 days timeframe for refund.

Replacing Contact Lenses

  • The balance between the two brands will have to be covered by our customers.

Calculating Price Differences

General Calculation Rules

  • The balance due is the replacement order’s price (factoring in the same discount as the original order) minus the amount already paid.

  • If the replacement uses a different lens type (e.g., switching from single-vision to premium progressive lenses), the price difference is calculated based on the discounted prices of both lens types.
